July 30, 2018 : Speaking outside the South Australian District Court, Craig Rielly, says the family was glad the court process had come to an end. His father, Leonard Rielly, 71, was at home alone when his house was broken into and his wallet stolen in March last year. He was admitted to hospital, where he developed pneumonia and died a week later. Derek Strangways, 26, was initially charged with Mr Rielly's murder, but that charge was dropped at the end of last year. Strangways pleaded guilty to aggravated serious criminal trespass and dishonestly taking property without consent. "It's been a long 16 months but at least it's one person off the street that's not going to attack any more elderly victims in their homes...Dad didn't deserve what he got." Mr Reilly said.
