Police in Scotland warned residents not to travel through areas under threat from Storm Arwen, as severe weather battered parts of the north and east coast on November 26. “The high-winds being experienced along the coastal areas of the north, east and southern parts of Scotland have led to red weather warnings coming into effect and as such, any motorist within these affected regions should not travel under any circumstances,” said Superintendent Simon Bradshaw. The warning extended not just to drivers but other members of the public, according to a police statement. The Met Office issued a “rare red weather warning” which would remain in effect until November 27. Footage by Aberdeenshire resident Caroline McFarlane shows strong winds pummelling a fence. The video was filmed in the town of Portsoy, she said. Credit: Caroline McFarlane via Storyful from Breaking National News and Australian News | Daily Telegraph https://ift.tt/2ZpY5xq
