Regional Victoria braces for lockdown

Bendigo Mayor Jennifer Alden says she is confident the local community will respond positively if another lockdown is imposed on Victoria as it has proven to be effective in the past. The state is on the edge of its fourth lockdown after recording 11 new local cases overnight – taking Victoria’s total case load to 26. “We do know that we’ve done this before and we can do it again and I think maybe that the knowledge of what we have done in the past has worked will stand people in good stead and give them confidence that whatever the news will be today that that will actually get us to a safer position as quickly as possible,” Ms Alden told Sky News. “That’s the intent of these types of decisions.” She conceded, however, lockdowns are a “huge challenge” for the community and local businesses. “Certain sectors will feel it more acutely.” from Breaking National News and Australian News | Daily Telegraph https://ift.tt/2QWkezl
